OUR CORE BELIEFS
2 Corinthians 5:16-20
So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way,
we do so no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!
All this is from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation:
That God was reconciling the world to Himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them.
And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though
God were making His appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.
We are Ambassador's of Christ and trust God to make His appeal through us.
The Church only has ONE MISSION. Jesus put it this way. Make Disciples as we go, knowing that Jesus both sent us and is always with us! Because He is Savior and has invited us to join Him and confidently tell what we have seen, heard and experienced as his "witnesses" in Central Ohio.
Matthew 28:18-20 Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
Acts 1:8 "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes to you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
Christ's love compels us, and we can no longer see anyone from a worldly point of view.
What would we SEE happening if we were fully engaged in Jesus' Mission? We would see broken people finding transformation in Christ and choosing to yield their lives in worship and service to Jesus by reaching out to others who are broken, captive, and in need of freedom, and offering freely their own journey of transformation.
Luke 4:16-21 He stood up to read, and the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. Unrolling it, he found the place where it is written: "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor." Then he rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant and sat down. The eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fastened on him. He began by saying to them, "Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing."
He has given us a ministry and a message of reconciliation for ourselves and others.
In experiencing God's grace and redemption, we value:
The love of God and believe we must love others by following His example and focusing on His grace and forgiveness of our sins through Christ Jesus.
The Word of God, because it teaches us about Him and what His love and direction look like in the lives of real people.
Our reconciliation and daily newness of life by the Holy Spirit.
Prayer both in talking to God and listening to Him daily.
Whole life stewardship and offer our time, talent, treasure and relationships back to the Father for His use.
Being the church Jesus said He would build, not just coming to the brick and mortar building many think of as the church.
Creating an atmosphere of warmth, inspiration and hope in our weekly time of worship.
Following the lead of the Holy Spirit, as we share the message of God's love and reconciliation in ways people can experience in real time and real ways.
God's proclamation that He doesn't just love us, He likes us very much too.
